Settebello campione del mondo, torna la favola dopo 17 anni

L'Italia ha conquistato la medaglia d'oro nella pallanuoto maschile ai Mondiali di Shanghai. Il Settebello ha battuto i campioni in carica della Serbia per 8-7 dopo i supplementari, andando contro i pronostici dei bookmaker che nella gara secca davano la Serbia avanti a 1,60. L'Italia non vinceva l'oro iridato dal 1994. "Siamo stati straordinari. Sono felice. E' una vittoria epica, voluta da tutta la squadra". Campagna trattiene a stento l'emozione dopo l'oro conquistato. "Con compattezza, con il cuore, il coraggio e con l'atipicità della squadra abbiamo sopperito alle loro grandissime individualità", prosegue ai microfoni della Rai il ct azzurro: "Abbiamo strameritato. Siamo orgogliosi di quello che abbiamo fatto, tutta la squadra dal primo all'ultimo componente deve esserlo. Oggi abbiamo dimostrato che quando c'è compattezza e coesione gli italiani non sono da meno a nessuno", aggiunge. "I fenomeni sono loro, in Italia quando si fa gruppo si arriva in alto. A un certo punto ho detto a tutti 'liberate la mente' e hanno reagito in maniera fantastica", conclude Campagna.
